Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival makes first nine bands for 2016 announced
Fans of the harder guitar work can go to the ninth edition from Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival on saturday 13th & Sunday 14th August 2016 in Courtrai, Belgium. The highly varied line-up from 2015 was not an easy task for the organization. The organisation was quite satisfied on all fronts when looking back. Therefore it was soon decided to maintain the same strategy for 2016.
Alcatraz will never neglect its fixed target audience, something it can count on for already eight years. At the same time we are not afraid to bet on rejuvenating and broadening. That in combination with (only) one stage is not the most obvious exercise. It’s often puzzling with only one thing in mind: to present the most animated hard (rock) & metal festival in every way.
It should be no surprise the organization is announcing Within Temptation today as one of the headliners, the band with its roots deeply embedded in the metal scene has grown into a huge popular act. The band approaches to a younger and also older audience, and invariably they always ensure a spectacular show. Alcatraz refers to Nightwish, the symphonic metal band that already closed the festival twice and together with Within Temptation they are leading the Female voices scene.

But it wouldn’t be Alcatraz if they did not had some harder music for you. What to think about Ministry, Children of Bodom, Devidriver, Airboure, Flotsam & Jetsam, Metal Church, Korpiklaani and Lita Ford?!
Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival is betting again on atmosphere and experience. People who were there last year will agree that the relocation from the festival from Vives to the Lange Munte turned out very well and was the only correct move. Despite of some small matters the organization ran great, together with the wonderful weather. Almost 13.000 visitors (over 2 days) found their way to the new event area for two days of musical entertainment. The large field, which offers many opportunities to grow, will act as a fixed destination for the coming years. For those who thought that the arrangement of the festival would not change is underestimating the organization. The site layout will look completely different for the 2016 edition. Lots of new and interesting ideas are being defined now. More restaurants, toilets and ticket offices are on the priority list anyway. The camping site will be upgraded and also atmosphere and decoration are back on the agenda. For people who were already impressed by the VIP tent, don’t wait too long to order your tickets because this aspect will also be upgraded. VIP tickets will be limited and an early booking is advised here.
