On Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th of August 2017, fans of the heavier guitarwork can gather in Courtrai (Belgium) for the tenth anniversary edition from Alcatraz Hard Rock & Metal Festival. The varied line-up from 2016 was no evidence for the organization, however it was a successful edition on all fronts. First of all the organization will never neglect their target audience who were loyal for the past nine years. At the same time they are not afraid for both rejuvenation and enlargement. This tenth edition also promises to be special in which the organization has a lot in store for her visitors.

A total of 35 bands will descend to the holy grounds in Courtrai where the festival will take place for the fifth time in 2017. The event will kick off on Friday with a real Heavy Metal Night. Five bands will perform on day 1 and turn the evening into a real Metal Party. And this will be for free, at least for those who are in possession of a combi ticket. This will be the first nice surprise of a long weekend but there is more!

To present a more diverse line-up than last year there will be an additional stage. Herewith Alcatraz is targeting an audience that perhaps has been neglected in recent years. The selected bands will capture the imagination and will better thrive in a dark tent. However, Alcatraz remains heavily committed to sociability, atmosphere and comfort. A larger camping, more toilets, a wider range of food stands, this tenth edition has be the ultimate experience of all previous years. Also El Presidio returns! The wildest rock and metal bar of the country will be happy to welcome you back in Courtrai. You can obtain a wide range of beers while enjoying the music and videos on the screens. The showpiece of Alcatraz is, in addition to the impressive stage, certainly the VIP area. It has grown year after year and with the wonderful view to the mainstage it is pure enjoyment from the VIP deck.

Even though the organization cannot release the full line-up today, we’d like to draw your attention for the following 21 names: Amon Amarth, Doro, Iced Earth, Death Angel, Sacred Reich, UFO, Raven, Rage, Dirkscheider, Hell, Krokus, Morbid Angel, Enslaved, Moonspell, Asphyx, Brant Bjork, King Hiss, Monkey 3, Dr. Living Death, Evil Invaders en Carnation.

Soon there will be added 14 new bands including headliners for the 2 stages.
